Newton County Public Library is proud to be an Evergreen Indiana Library - Evergreen Indiana is a growing consortium of more than 120 public, school and institutional libraries located throughout Indiana that use the Evergreen ILS. Patrons of member libraries can use their Evergreen Indiana library card to view the catalogs and borrow materials from the other member libraries, and are always welcome to visit member libraries. Patrons of non-Evergreen Indiana libraries may be eligible for reciprocal borrower services with Evergreen Indiana libraries if their home libraries have approved the statewide reciprocal borrowing covenant. That list of participating libraries may be found by selecting the button shown below.
Evergreen Indiana introduced Auto-Renewals in 2019, and Newton County Public Library began offering this service at the same time! What does this mean for Newton County Public Library patrons?
Items will be renewed automatically on their due dates. If you’ve given us your email address, you’ll be notified when your items are successfully renewed.

PLEASE NOTE: There are circumstances for items not eligible for Auto-Renewals! Items not eligible for Auto-Renewal will have a Hold for another patron OR the maximum amount of item renewals has been met.

Juvenile Cards Go Fine-Free!
Effective April 1, 2022 juvenile cardholders 17 years of age and under will not incur overdue fines, with the exception of materials classified as "equipment." Fees will be charged for materials classified as "lost" or "damaged," regardless of the cardholder's age.
This will apply only to items borrowed on site at branches included in the Newton County Public Library system.
Items borrowed directly from another Evergreen Indiana Library using a participating member card shall be subject to the policies of that Library.
This will include items transited from other Evergreen Indiana Libraries, IN-SHARE, or the
Statewide Remote Circulation Service (SRCS).
